The ICMS Master of Event Management is designed for working professionals seeking formal qualifications, as well as students seeking exposure to best practice within the event sector. It is a postgraduate degree that aims to develop strategic thinking and conceptual, analytics and current, practical skills. Successful events can result in sustainable social, economic and infrastructure outcomes and are emerging as a key strategy for communities coping with globalisation and the new economy. Underpinning a strong emphasis on the international event sector, the Master of Event Management is designed to develop strategic management skills and knowledge that may be applied to the delivery of events in a range of local, national and global settings.

General Requirements

Entry requirements differ for domestic and international students.
Prospective students should check the entry requirements as specified by ICMS for their applicant category.
Applications can be submitted directly online, through one of ICMS's international representatives, or via UAC (domestic students only).
Students who have already worked, or who are currently working, within their industry of study may be eligible to receive Recognition of Prior Learning for Work Integrated Learning subjects.

The Master of Event Management includes 2 subjects of Work Integrated Learning, where students will work with an organisation in their industry for 600 hours and apply their knowledge to real business issues.

Can I study the Master of Event Management online?

Yes, the course is available on-campus at the Northern Beaches Campus in Manly as well as online. However, international students on a Student Visa can only undertake 33% of their total enrolment load online and must be enrolled in at least one on-campus subject in each compulsory study period, in accordance with the Australian Government ESOS National Code.

What are the available start dates for the Master of Event Management?

Main intakes are in February, May, and August, with mid-term intakes available in March, June, October, and December.
