About This Course

The Master of Financial Planning gives the educational requirements needed to progress into a career as a financial planner, for people who already hold a degree and want to help others build and manage personal wealth, tax, financial risk and spending.
The degree starts with foundational business topics before moving into advanced financial planning concepts and methods. First year sharpens foundational business knowledge across quantitative methods, economic principles, accounting concepts and methods, and principles of finance, and introduces the key concepts of financial planning.
Later study develops the expertise to craft financial plans for clients, building on foundational knowledge in economics, accounting and finance.
The degree was developed in consultation with industry and is taught by financial planning academics.
The program totals 96 units — 24 units of core courses, 60 units of discipline courses and 12 units of electives — over two years, on campus at Adelaide City or online, with February and July intakes.
