This is the only multidisciplinary course in human rights and global engagement in Australia. It is delivered by Curtin's Centre for Human Rights Education and exposes students to rich and varied perspectives on human rights in a global context, including insights into regional politics, culture and justice, intercultural competence, and sustainability.
This course provides opportunities to gain practical experience in real-world scenarios, such as developing advocacy campaign strategies and engaging in simulation exercises modelled on UN human rights agency hearings. You'll also have the opportunity to complete an internship to gain real-world experience in human rights and global engagement.
You must meet Curtin's English language requirements. For this course, the IELTS Academic requirement is an overall band score of 6.5, with minimum scores of 6 in each component: Writing, Speaking, Reading, and Listening. Other accepted English tests and qualifications may also be considered.
The 2026 domestic indicative first-year fee is $24,276 (based on a full-time study load of 200 credit points). This is a domestic fee-paying (DFP) place, meaning it is not Commonwealth supported. Domestic fee-paying students may be eligible for FEE-HELP assistance. Fees are indicative only and may vary depending on the units chosen.
The course is offered at Curtin Perth with intakes in Semester 1 and Semester 2. For the 2026 academic year, Semester 2 applications are open until 5 July 2026, and Semester 1 2027 applications are open until 28 January 2027. Applications are submitted directly to Curtin via their online applications portal.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
