The Master of Health and Clinical Research program is an 18-unit course of advanced coursework topics followed by a time-based, supervised research project culminating in an externally-examined thesis. The program includes topics in communicating research, research design and ethics in health and clinical settings, research methods in health and clinical settings, and an elective topic at postgraduate level in an area related to the research topic.
Yes. Students who successfully complete the course will be eligible to apply for admission to a PhD, making the Master of Health and Clinical Research a formal pathway to doctoral study.
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree with Honours from an Australian university (including relevant studies and field of research), or an equivalent qualification as approved by the relevant authorised delegate, or a bachelor's degree with five years of clinical or industry work experience. Applicants must also meet the University's English language requirements and satisfy the University that they are reasonably likely to successfully complete the award within the maximum duration.
Domestic students can start in March, while international students have two intake dates available: March and July.
Graduates can strengthen their career in a health or industry setting in areas such as the government sector, private or corporate consulting sectors, academia, and research institutions.
