Must be taken prior to or at the same time as completing other units by students without a law degree from a common law jurisdiction.
Common Questions
The Master of Health Law is designed for candidates from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds who wish to explore legal and ethical issues in healthcare and health governance. Students do not need to hold a law degree to enrol, though those without a law degree from a common law jurisdiction must take a core unit prior to or at the same time as completing other units.
The core and elective units of study cover a wide range of areas, including healthcare law, the impact of new technologies on healthcare, the regulation of the health professions, litigation and dispute resolution, public health law, mental health law, global health law and governance, and a range of more specialist fields.
Applications close on 31 January of the commencing year for Semester 1 entry, and 15 July of the commencing year for Semester 2 entry. Separate deadlines apply for scholarship applications.
Students in the Master of Health Law learn to identify, analyse and develop solutions to complex legal, ethical and policy issues affecting health and health services.
You can submit an application through the University of Sydney's online application portal. Separate scholarship application deadlines also apply, so prospective students should check the scholarship closing dates separately.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
