Common Questions
The program can be completed in two years of full-time study or four years part-time. It is made up of 96 total Units of Credit (UOC) across 16 courses, including nine core courses, three elective courses, and additional electives which include a research project or research methodology course.
For domestic students, Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) are available, with an indicative CSP first year fee of $9,500 and an indicative CSP fee to complete the degree of $19,000. For domestic full-fee paying students, the indicative first year full fee is $39,000 and the indicative full fee to complete the degree is $80,000. For international students, the indicative first year fee is $60,500 and the indicative fee to complete the degree is $126,000. All fees are subject to annual review.
Yes. This degree provides flexible learning options so you can complete the degree according to your needs and commitments. Courses can be taken online or face-to-face, full-time or part-time. Online learning spaces facilitate collaborative learning so you can connect with fellow students and course convenors in real-time.
There are three entry pathways. Pathway 1 requires a three-year undergraduate degree in any field plus two years of full-time professional or volunteer experience in a relevant field. Pathway 2 requires an undergraduate degree plus honours in a relevant field, or a postgraduate degree in a relevant field. Pathway 3 is for exceptional cases where applicants have at least five years of full-time relevant experience in health or public health but do not hold a relevant degree. An Indigenous Alternative Entry Scheme is also available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Graduates are well positioned for careers in health services general management, health services c-suite roles, government and non-government policy, medical communications, medical insurance management, non-government health service management, health economics, health program management, health care consultancy, government ministries and departments of health, international health organisations and NGOs, international aid agencies, military and first responder organisations, health education and advocacy, and research. Many graduates occupy senior executive, general management, and health ministry roles in Australia and across the world.
