Master of Human Resource Management

The Master of Human Resource Management extends your knowledge and skills across best-practice and emerging human resource management concepts, theories, principles and methods.
Alongside specialised HR courses you complete courses covering key business and leadership knowledge. Topics include accounting principles for decision makers, Australian industrial relations, entrepreneurial thinking, foundations of employment law, managing employee performance and rewards, managing the global workforce, marketing, negotiation, people analytics, people, leadership and organisational performance, strategic management of human resources, and talent acquisition and development.
The degree examines HRM approaches in global and cross-cultural contexts, and asks you to critically review real company case studies and develop actionable, innovative, ethical and sustainable solutions to common challenges. You also develop high-level technical skills in using HRM systems and an advanced understanding of how to leverage digital technology against complex management problems.
Expertise is built across people analytics, strategic thinking, leadership and performance, alongside problem-solving and people management skills, and you make industry connections with experienced HR professionals and executives.
You complete an industry-based project, and an elective aligned to your interests and career goals.
The program totals 96 units — 72 units of core courses, 12 units of work integrated learning and 12 units of electives — over two years at the Adelaide City Campus, with February and July intakes.
