Common Questions
The MICT offers two specialisations: Master of Information and Communication Technology with a Specialisation in Artificial Intelligence, and Master of Information and Communication Technology with a Specialisation in Cyber Security. Each specialisation requires 8 core units (48 credit points) and 8 specialisation units (48 credit points), totalling 16 units and 96 credit points, with two capstone units embedded in each specialisation.
The MICT has a standard duration of 2 years (4 Trimesters), with 2 compulsory trimesters in each year. Students are required to study 4 units per trimester, with a minimum of 8 units per year. The course is available from Trimester 1 2026, and Trimesters 1 & 2 are compulsory study periods for all students.
International students must have: a Bachelor's degree in ICT or related discipline; or a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in ICT or related disciplines; or a Bachelor's degree in a non-ICT related discipline with two or more years of ICT experience; or a Bachelor's degree in a non-ICT related discipline with completion of at least two core ICT units such as Computer Programming, Data Structure and Algorithms, or Database Fundamentals. English language proficiency is also required, with a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall (no band lower than 6.0), or equivalent scores in TOEFL, PTE Academic, or Cambridge CAE/CPE.
