The course offers three specialty majors: Mobile Application Development, Software Design and Development, and Networks and Information Security. Students can also choose one of seven minors to tailor their studies: Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems and Analysis, Internet of Things, Liberal Studies, Mobile Application Development, Networks and Information Security, Project Management, and Software Design and Development. Minors cover new technologies such as blockchain, neural networks, machine learning, internet-of-things, sustainable practices with IT, and big data.
Yes, the flexible course structure allows you to exit after completion of four units with the Graduate Certificate of Information Technology, or exit after completion of eight units with the Graduate Diploma of Information Technology, before completing the full Master of Information Technology.
Yes, students have the option of completing a 12-week internship in the final term of study (Postgraduate ICT Internship, COIT20276) instead of the capstone units (COIT20265 Networks and Information Security Project, COIT20272 Mobile App Development Project, or COIT20273 Software Design and Development Project). Students are also able to undertake discipline capstone units while working with industry partners.
The indicative first-year fee for 2026 is $30,100 (Full Fee Paying). The next available start term is Term 2, 2026, with additional intakes available in Term 3, 2026, Term 1, 2027, Term 2, 2027, and Term 3, 2027.
