About This Course

What is a Master of Information Technology? The Master of Information Technology equips you with an extensive understanding of smart and emerging technologies amid Industry 4.0. The course expands your knowledge of data and programming, networks and security, cloud computing and artificial intelligence, helping you advance your career in the ICT industry. Upon graduating, you will have the ability to plan, design, lead and verify innovative IT solutions to solve complex problems. The course will expose you to the myriad of software and ICT infrastructure used within the industry to roll out IT solutions, including cloud architecture and cybersecurity platforms. In doing so, your studies will position you to effectively lead and guide IT teams and manage large-scale projects end to end. This course has been co-developed with industry-leading ICT practitioners and academics, and is structured to align with the guidelines of the Australian Computer Society. More Learning outcomes and Work-Integrated Learning Manage and evaluate complicated IT projects involving industry-standard tools and techniques. Critically analyse problem sets to construct acute IT solutions and communicate to all stakeholders including technology professionals and business clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Apply cognitive and technical skills from the Information Technology body of knowledge to solve complex problems with innovation and ethical practice. Apply cognitive, technical and creative skills from the field of IT to effectively and efficiently investigate and solve problem sets with mastery. Demonstrate sound judgement, non-partisanship and accountability in team leadership roles to achieve effective planning, management, execution and communication of IT projects. Integrate IT concepts and adopt industry best practices to devise solutions for commercial problems. Research, critique and examine complex problem sets in the field of IT. Undertake 192 hours of experience by completing an internship or working on a live brief Complimentary ACS membership Students studying Information Technology courses at Torrens University are eligible for a complimentary ACS student membership.
