About This Course

The Master of Information Technology (MIT) provides advanced technical and managerial skills for individuals seeking to build or progress their careers in the IT field. Designed for students from both IT and non-IT backgrounds, the course prepares graduates for leadership roles in IT management, system design, data analytics, and innovation. It offers a strong foundation in key areas of information technology, with a curriculum developed in consultation with industry professionals to reflect current trends and emerging technologies. This ensures that graduates are equipped with practical, real-world capabilities. The course emphasises both technical expertise and managerial competencies, enabling students to address complex IT challenges across diverse sectors. A capstone Applied Project unit integrates technical knowledge, research skills, and managerial insights in a real-world context, ensuring that students graduate with the ability to design, implement, and communicate innovative IT solutions to employers and industry partners. The MIT course also incorporates hands-on learning through lab-based assessments, simulations, and applied projects, while its research-driven approach encourages students to undertake innovative projects that address contemporary IT challenges. Eligibility

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

Successfully completed a Bachelor's degree (AQF 7) or higher, awarded by a recognised university or higher education institution or its international equivalent, in any discipline; OR
Applicants who have completed a postgraduate preparation program.

English Language Requirements (For International Students):

IELTS Academic: overall band score of 6.5 or higher, with a minimum score of 6.0 in writing and speaking; OR
IBT (Internet-based TOEFL): Overall score of 79 with a writing section minimum of 21 and speaking 18; OR
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): Overall score 180, writing and speaking 180; OR
Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): Overall 176 with a writing and speaking minimum score of 169; OR
PTE Academic Module with a minimum score of 58 with a writing and speaking section minimum of 50.
