Master of Information Technology

To satisfy the general entrance requirements for admission to the MIT course, applicants must meet at least one of the following entry requirements: DOMESTIC APPLICANTS: Domestic applicants with a non-cognate AQF7 credential: Successful completion of an Australian recognised AQF7 qualification or overseas equivalence that had been delivered in English, with a grade point average in an undergraduate program of at least 2.4, where the range is four, and an equivalent proportion for other ranges. Domestic applicants with a cognate AQF7 credential: Successful completion of an Australian recognised Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) or equivalent qualification that had been delivered in English, with a grade point average in an undergraduate program of at least 2.4, where the range is four, and an equivalent proportion for other ranges, or Successful completion of an Australian recognised Graduate Certificate in Information Technology or Graduate Diploma of Information Technology or their equivalence that have been delivered in English, with a grade point average in an undergraduate program of at least 2.4, where the range is four, and an equivalent proportion for other ranges, or Without a cognate AQ7 credential: Equivalent professional experience which will allow domestic applicants to apply for RPL based on their industry experience. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS: International students must meet the conditions above. In addition, international students whose first language is not English must demonstrate competency in the English language. English proficiency can be demonstrated by providing proof of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall test result (or equivalent alternative test result as defined by regulation) that meets the specified level of English proficiency specified for the course: IELTS 6.5 with no individual band below 6.0. Where international students have achieved an AQF qualification or equivalent overseas qualification and where the language of instruction has been English, students are deemed to have met the English language fluency requirement. Graduates of the CIHE Australia Master of Information Technology program will be able to work in a range of workplace contexts and environments. A conceptual framework for information technology is likely to inform a much wider range of jobs, beyond the boundaries of the IT profession. Over the entire program students will acquire the necessary attributes that will distinguish them as a graduate of the Institute. A graduate of CIHE Australia will possess comprehensive knowledge in their discipline area and be able to apply that knowledge effectively in the workplace. They will be able to identify problems and work pro-actively and creatively to develop solutions and to generate, analyse and interpret different types of information to inform and support decision-making processes. They will be able to do the following: think logically and critically to analyse and solve problems; work with high levels of autonomy; be independent thinkers; engage with others proactively and collaboratively for continued personal and professional development; act ethically and with an awareness of cultural diversity and will have developed their communication skills.
