The MIT offers three specialisation options: Specialisation 1 – Major in Cyber Security & Networking (16 units, including 7 core + 7 major core + 2 elective units); Specialisation 2 – Major in Data Science and Information Systems (16 units, including 7 core + 7 major core + 2 elective units); and Specialisation 3 – General (No Major) (16 units, including 7 core + any 9 units, with at least one capstone or research project unit).
Students can complete the MIT in 2 years (full-time), 1.5 years (accelerated), or 4 years (part-time, which is only available for domestic Australian students).
For 2026, the MIT is priced at AUD 11,600 per trimester, with total course fees of AUD 46,400.
Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through one of the following: a minimum IELTS (Academic Module) score of 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0 or equivalent; completion of an undergraduate program in any field in Australia within 2 years; or 4 units completed in any Postgraduate degree in Australia within 2 years.
For added flexibility, students who cannot complete the MIT may exit with a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Information Technology.
