The Master of Information Technology at NAPS allows students to major in either Networking or Cyber Security.
Yes, the NAPS MIT course is designed for students with or without ICT backgrounds. For students with a non-ICT background, foundational units are incorporated into their study plan to accommodate their learning needs, whereas students with an ICT background have elective options in their study plan.
The degree comprises 16 subjects studied over 4 trimesters with 4 subjects per trimester. Each trimester comprises 13 weeks of face-to-face classes and one-week end of session exam period, making each trimester a 14-week block. There are three trimesters per year, with the third (summer) trimester being optional. Teaching is delivered via 4 hours of face-to-face classes per week (2 hours lectures and 2 hours tutorials), supplemented with online materials through Moodle, and additional online activities such as discussion groups, seminars, and webinars.
Graduates of the Master of Information Technology at NAPS can pursue careers as Business Analysts, Database Developers, Project Managers, Systems Analysts, Web Developers, and Software Developers, working in various areas including the private sector and government agencies.
The units in the course are aligned and mapped with the Australian Computer Society (ACS) Accreditation in mind, and accreditation will be applied for in the future. The CRICOS Course Code for the program is 116985A.
