Yes, if you have undertaken previous studies at another institution or have significant relevant employment experience, you may be eligible to apply for RPL after receiving a UTS offer of enrolment. RPL is assessed on a case-by-case basis or through established articulation agreements, and applications should be submitted before your initial enrolment.

You will be notified of your RPL outcome via your UTS webmail account within four to six weeks of application submission.

RPL may be granted as either specified credit (subject exemption), where prior learning is equivalent to a specific UTS subject, or unspecified credit (unspecified elective/general advanced standing), where prior learning counts towards an elective component but is not equivalent to a specific UTS subject.

You need to provide certified official academic records and qualifications, along with supporting evidence such as subject outlines, comparison tables, or portfolios. Non-English documents must be officially translated and submitted with certified copies.

International students should apply for RPL when applying for their UTS course to ensure processing before the letter of offer is issued. You should also consider the impact of RPL on your course duration and student visa requirements. Applications made after the first session will only be considered in exceptional circumstances with a written statement explaining the delay.
