Common Questions
The Master of Marketing can be completed in 2 years full time (160 credit points) for those with an undergraduate degree in any field. However, if you hold a business undergraduate degree, have relevant work experience, or hold a higher qualification in a business or related discipline, you may receive credit and complete the program in 1.5 years or 1 year. Part-time study is also available.
Entry requirements vary by pathway. The 2-year pathway requires an undergraduate degree in any discipline. The 1.5-year pathway requires an undergraduate degree in business, or an undergraduate degree in any discipline plus at least two years of managerial/professional work experience in business management, or five years of general work experience. The 1-year pathway requires an honours degree, graduate certificate, graduate diploma or higher in a business or related discipline, or an undergraduate degree in marketing/related business discipline with a GPA of 5.0 or WAM of 65+, or a business undergraduate degree plus two years of marketing management work experience.
Graduates of the Master of Marketing can pursue a broad range of careers including Social Media Manager, Brand Manager, Customer Insights Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, Product Manager, and Public Relations Manager, across different sectors and industries.
The program features a unique 'MarketingMe' component embedded in the program content, which builds a portfolio of professional skills and enhances employability by focusing on soft skills such as delivering presentations, developing a personal brand, and interview skills. The School of Business also holds AACSB accreditation for excellence in business education, and all students receive complimentary access to Adobe Creative Cloud apps as part of Western's Adobe Creative Campus status.
