Master of Marketing

The Master of Marketing is a two-year degree that advances your marketing skills and prepares you to make strategic decisions and progress into leadership roles. The curriculum is developed by academics including those from the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute, which the university describes as the world's largest centre for research into marketing.
Your studies build fundamental marketing knowledge across strategy, market research and analysis, communication, consumer behaviour and contemporary trends.
First year covers key areas, concepts and applications of marketing, including advertising, digital marketing, consumer behaviour and marketing analytics, alongside topics that develop leadership potential — team management, entrepreneurship, and accounting principles for decision-makers.
Second year prepares you to make managerial decisions backed by marketing theory, data and trends, going deep into strategic brand management and global marketing strategies. You learn to develop effective marketing strategies for diverse audiences, identify trends, analyse consumer behaviour, interpret analytical data and communicate with impact, and gain the knowledge to practise in global marketing environments and diverse cultural contexts.
Practical skills are built through an industry-relevant marketing research project in your final year.
The program totals 96 units — 78 units of core courses, 12 units of work integrated learning and 6 units of electives — over two years at the Adelaide City Campus, with February and July intakes.
