There are three specialisations available: Applied Statistics, Data Science, and Financial Mathematics. Students who do not wish to choose a specialisation will work with the Academic Program Director to tailor their subject choices to align with their career goals and interests.
Applicants need a bachelor's degree with an equivalent average mark of 50% with a major or minor in mathematics or statistics. If applying based on a mathematics or statistics minor, it must include a minimum of 12 credit points of mathematics or statistics subjects at the 200-level or higher.
The indicative full-fee paying course fee is $73,505 for 2026, with a session fee of $18,376. However, in 2026, domestic students may be eligible for either a Commonwealth supported place (CSP) or a UOW-subsidised fee reduction of up to 75% off the listed fees.
The course starts in both Autumn and Spring sessions. For Autumn 2026 (starting 2 March 2026), the domestic application deadline is 31 December 2025 and the international deadline is 9 December 2025. For Spring 2026 (starting 27 July 2026), the domestic deadline is 31 May 2026 and the international deadline is 5 May 2026.
Yes, if you have completed prior studies or relevant professional experience, you can request course credit or subject exemptions to reduce the duration and cost of your program.
