About This Course

The Master of Mechanical Engineering (MC-MECHENG) teaches students to design and build tomorrow's machines and systems, from small scale devices to air and spacecraft, turning energy into power and motion through mechanical design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and more. Students with a relevant undergraduate major can complete the degree in 2 years; once studying, they can specialise in Aerospace, Business, Manufacturing or Materials, or continue without specialising. Guided by experts in fluid mechanics, turbulence and biomechanics who have developed robots with a human touch, low-cost prostheses, and 3D printing to create jaws and save hearts, students access cutting-edge laboratories and a heavy engineering workshop, and apply skills in internships, industry projects and innovation challenges with industry mentors, graduating with dual accreditation in the Master of Engineering.

General Requirements

Completion of a bachelor degree (AQF7) in any discipline with a weighted average mark (WAM) of 65%, or equivalent
At least 25 points of appropriate tertiary-level Mathematics equivalent to MAST10006 Calculus 2 and MAST10007 Linear Algebra
At least 25 points of appropriate tertiary-level Physics equivalent to PHYC10003 Physics 1 and PHYC10004 Physics 2
3-year and 2-year entry points available depending on relevance of prior studies
