UC's Master of Medical Imaging condenses a comprehensive three-year course into an internationally recognised Medical Imaging qualification in only 2.5 years, meaning graduates finish six months earlier and gain a highly competitive advantage over similar courses offered elsewhere.
Students will participate in a variety of clinical placements throughout the course, including four 5-week blocks and two 13-week residencies. Placements occur across various local and/or national healthcare settings, including metro, regional, rural, large and small hospitals and private practice organisations. Prior to attending clinical placement, students spend time using medical imaging equipment in both simulated and controlled lab environments on campus.
Yes, this course is accredited with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) through the Medical Radiation Practice Accreditation Committee (MRPAC), the accreditation committee of the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA). Graduating students will be eligible to apply for registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer with the MRPBA, enabling employment in both public hospitals and private radiology practices in any state or territory in Australia and around the world.
There are non-standard English language requirements for this course. To be eligible you must have an overall IELTS Academic score (or equivalent) of 7.0, with no band score below 7.0. Yes, prior to undertaking any clinical placement students will be required to: undertake a National Police Check, obtain a Working With Vulnerable People registration, provide their immunisation history, and have a qualification in First Aid including CPR.
