You'll undertake 800+ hours of supervised clinical practice, giving you valuable, hands-on experience. Students must be available to undertake clinical midwifery practice during and/or outside semester in healthcare facilities, with clinical practice blocks that can be several weeks in length, requiring availability for rotational night and weekend shifts.
Yes. This course is accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council and approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Graduates are eligible to apply for registration as a midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Yes. This course is available part-time to Australian citizens and permanent residents and is subject to unit availabilities, which may increase the course duration beyond the standard two years of full-time study.
In addition to satisfying Curtin University minimum English standard requirements, all applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency as specified by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia's English language skills registration standard. This can be met either by having completed at least six years of primary and secondary education taught and assessed solely in English in an approved country (including at least two years between years 7 and 12), or by achieving a minimum IELTS score of 7.0/7.0 (or equivalent) taken within two years of the course commencement date. Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
