Master of Multimedia Journalism (Global)

This course builds on the 1.5-year Master of Multimedia Journalism to include specialist skills in international relations and human rights. Across two years of study, you'll gain journalism expertise across all media platforms, including online, radio and video, with the added dimension of international relations and human rights knowledge, preparing you to become an influential voice in an interconnected world.

Curtin has formal internship arrangements with all major media companies in Western Australia, including Seven West Media, the ABC, WAtoday and Network 10. You'll also report for Curtin's news website, Western Independent, and develop professional experience using industry-standard technology and facilities including a television studio.

You must meet Curtin's English language requirements. For IELTS Academic, the required scores are: Writing 7, Speaking 7, Reading 6.5, Listening 6.5, and an overall band score of 7. If you've completed a different English test or qualification, you may be able to use it to meet this requirement by checking accepted English tests on Curtin's English language requirements page.

The 2026 domestic indicative first-year fee is $24,446, based on a full-time study load of 200 credit points. This is a domestic fee-paying (DFP) place, meaning it is not Commonwealth supported. Domestic fee-paying students may be eligible for FEE-HELP assistance for all or part of those tuition fees. A range of scholarships is also available to help with financial support, relocation, or recognition of academic achievements.

Yes, you may be able to exit this course early with a Graduate Certificate in Multimedia Journalism or a Master of Multimedia Journalism. Additionally, if you choose to complete a research dissertation as part of this course and complete it to a high standard, you may be eligible for entry into a doctoral degree.
