Common Questions
To meet the requirements of a Registered Nurse (Division 1), you will complete at least 800 hours of supervised clinical placements across the two years of the course in various healthcare settings in your state/territory of residency. Clinical placement must be completed full-time, with rotating shifts across a seven-day week, which may include night, weekend and public holiday shifts.
You will complete three simulation blocks (96 hours total) during your study, each consisting of a 32-hour (4-day) on-campus attendance. These are completed full-time at the Sydney (NSW), Alice Springs (NT), Darwin (NT), Brisbane (QLD) (simulation only), or Melbourne (VIC) (simulation only) campus. Students are responsible for the cost of simulation block attendance, including travel and accommodation.
Yes, the course is available online (external) in both full-time and part-time modes. However, regardless of your study mode, you must attend on-campus simulation blocks and complete clinical placements full-time within 150 kilometres of where you live, with rotating shifts across a seven-day week.
All applicants must meet the English Language Skills Registration Standard set by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). You can demonstrate English language proficiency in one of three ways: completing a declaration that English is your primary language (with at least six years of education taught in English in a recognised country), sitting an approved English language proficiency test (such as IELTS Academic with an overall minimum of 7.0, PTE Academic with a minimum of 66, TOEFL with a minimum of 94, OET with a minimum of B, or Cambridge C1/C2 with a minimum of 185), or holding current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse or Midwife.
The annual tuition fee for full-time study in 2026 is AUD $40,416.00, which equates to $5,052.00 per 10 credit point unit (0.125 EFTSL). These fees are subject to increases annually, effective at the start of each calendar year. CDU also offers a number of scholarships to international students to assist with the cost of study.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
