No, this course does not lead to registration to practice as a nurse in Australia. However, it may lead to Australian employment in health policy, compliance, consultation or program coordination.
English Language requirements (Band 4) may be satisfied through an IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (with no individual band less than 6.0), a Bachelor degree from a country specified on the English Proficiency Bands page, successful completion of 0.375 EFTSL of study at postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent), equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience, or other tests, courses or programs defined on the English Proficiency Bands page.
The estimated 1st year indicative fee is AUD $26,550 for domestic fee-paying students and AUD $42,800 for international students. Note that at ECU, you pay for the individual units you enrol in, not an overall course fee, so the total cost of your course will vary depending on what units you choose. ECU fees are also adjusted annually.
The Master of Nursing Studies is available at multiple locations including the City Campus, Joondalup Campus, South West Campus, Sri Lanka, and Online. Semester 1 study full-time is available at Joondalup.
Graduates will have enhanced employment prospects in a range of health care settings including health administration, project management, health education, health promotion, health research, community health and public health. Possible future job titles include Project Officer, Senior Policy Officer, Quality and Compliance Officer, Program Officer, Research Project Officer, Community Care Coordinator, Advance Care Planning Coordinator, Care Coordinator (Aged Care), and Clinical Governance Consultant.
