Yes. The Master of Nutrition and Dietetics has full accreditation with Dietitians Australia, making all graduates eligible for the credential of Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD).
In the final year of the degree, students complete 800 hours of professional placement (20 weeks at 40 hours per week) in general and specialist hospitals in local, regional and rural areas, as well as in a variety of community and industry settings. Before commencing placement within a NSW Health facility, students must meet NSW Health's mandatory requirements for a police check, code of conduct, and immunisation/vaccination, and should allow up to 12 weeks for some components to be completed.
The indicative full-fee paying tuition cost is $15,203 per session and $60,811 for the full course (2026 figures). In 2026, domestic students may be eligible for either a Commonwealth supported place (CSP) or a UOW-subsidised fee reduction of up to 75% off the listed fees. Fees are subject to change and will be confirmed at the time of your offer.
Applications for both domestic and international students must be submitted by 30 September in the year prior to study commencing (e.g., 30 September 2025 for the Autumn 2026 intake starting 2 March 2026). Applications must include all required documents, including two referee reports and a completed Supplementary Information Form, to be considered complete.
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree of at least three years' duration from a recognised tertiary institution, including content in human biosciences, food, and nutrition taught within an evidence-based paradigm. Specifically, the degree must include Chemistry followed by Biochemistry (including metabolic biochemistry and laboratory practicals), Human Biology followed by Human Physiology (including systems physiology with laboratory practicals), Nutrition Science across multiple year levels (0.5 EFTSL), and Statistics, preferably biostatistics. Candidates must also submit two referees' reports and a completed Supplementary Information Form.
