Common Questions
You are required to undertake a minimum of 1000 hours of supervised clinical practice in a variety of institutions and community settings, including rural and remote areas of Western Australia, before you graduate. These placements occur throughout the length of the course and extensively in the final year, and one fieldwork block may continue beyond the end of your final semester.
Domestic students can study this course part-time; however, part-time study is not available for international students. This course is not available to study by distance education and must be completed on campus at Curtin Perth.
Graduates must be registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (the National Board) to use the title of registered health practitioner or occupational therapist, enabling practice in all Australian states and territories. The course is also recognised by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists, and graduates may apply for registration in most countries, although some countries may require sitting a licensing examination.
If you do not have evidence of studies in the human biosciences (e.g. human biology) at tertiary level, you will be required to undertake additional bridging units. You can refer to the Health Sciences Graduate Entry Foundation Course, which allows you to complete the units you require before applying for this course. For example, HUMB1000 – Human Structure and Function can be undertaken in the first or second semester to facilitate entry to the next year's intake.
This course comprises six study periods across two and one half years of full-time study. The program commences with an intensively taught summer study period — one unit starting in early January. Students must successfully complete this unit before proceeding to Semester 1 units. The intake is Block Session 1 for the 2026 academic year at Curtin Perth.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
