Yes, QUT recommends that you discuss your research interests with your proposed supervisor early in the application process. You can search for a supervisor using QUT's experts database, and as part of your application you must propose a research topic and develop a research proposal. You may also ask a supervisor to help you identify or refine a research topic.
Your research proposal should include your research topic, an overview of previous research in the area, the objectives of your research, your proposed research methods and plan, your supervisor, and any coursework requirements.
Your support team will include external supervisors from industry as well as QUT academic staff, allowing you to develop positive and collaborative relationships to help progress toward your research goals. QUT also offers the Graduate Research Education and Development (GRE+D) program, which provides seminars, workshops and practical experiences to prepare you for life after graduation. Additionally, a research degree skills audit helps you and your supervisors identify the coursework and training that will support your research and employment goals.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
