Master of Philosophy (Business and Management)

Specialised areas of management may include strategic management, international management, tourism management, administrative management, human resource management and entrepreneurship, and small business management.

Applicants require an Honours degree in business, economics or commerce (minimum second class, div A), or a graduate diploma in business, economics or commerce.

This course normally requires one to two years full-time or equivalent part-time study, with a standard duration of 2 years full-time.

Australian citizens, permanent residents and New Zealand citizens who are successful applicants of a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program are eligible for a tuition fee exemption under the Australian Government's Research Training Program (RTP): up to two years of full-time equivalent study for Master of Philosophy programs.

Students will learn to demonstrate mastery of theoretical knowledge and reflect critically on that knowledge and its application, investigate, analyse and synthesise complex information, problems, concepts and theories, generate and evaluate complex ideas and concepts at an abstract level, design, use and evaluate research and research methods, present a coherent and sustained argument, and design, evaluate, implement, analyse, theorise and disseminate research that makes an original contribution to knowledge and/or professional practice.
