About This Course

The Master of Philosophy - MDHS (Dental Science) (MR-PHILDSC) is an internationally recognised masters (by research) degree, enabling candidates to undertake up to two years' research on a specific topic within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. Candidates develop advanced research skills and techniques and specialist knowledge in their discipline, producing a thesis. Completion of the Master of Philosophy provides a pathway to the Doctor of Philosophy.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

A four-year bachelor degree in a relevant discipline including a substantial research component (at least 25% of one year full-time study) with a minimum weighted average of 75% in final year subjects or (University of Melbourne) equivalent, OR a masters degree in a relevant discipline with an equivalent research component and minimum weighted average of 75%, OR equivalent qualification and professional experience
A research proposal, referee reports (except for UoM graduates within the last 5 years), and the endorsement of a prospective supervisor
