Master of Philosophy (Economics, Finance and Property)

The course normally requires one to two years of full-time study or equivalent part-time study, with a standard duration of 2 years full-time.

Students focus on one of three areas — Economics, Finance, or Property — although coursework and research may be carried out in both areas.

Australian citizens, permanent residents and New Zealand citizens who are successful applicants of a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program are eligible for a tuition fee exemption under the Australian Government's Research Training Program (RTP), covering up to two years of full-time equivalent study for Master of Philosophy programs.

You will learn to demonstrate mastery of theoretical knowledge and reflect critically on its application, investigate and synthesise complex information, generate and evaluate complex ideas, design and evaluate research methods, present coherent arguments, and disseminate research that makes an original contribution to knowledge and/or professional practice.

The course is offered at Curtin Perth campus, with on-campus delivery available for both Research Term 1 and Research Term 2 in 2026.
