Common Questions
You can search the UWA Research Repository by keyword to identify potential supervisors in your field of interest. Contact potential supervisors directly with your CV, a brief outline of your proposed research, and your academic transcripts. Your nominated supervisor may request an interview, and you must provide evidence (e.g. an email) that your supervisor has agreed to supervise you before submitting your application.
UWA typically holds two postgraduate research scholarship rounds per year. The International Round is open from 1 July to 31 August, and the Domestic Round is open from 1 September to 31 October. If you are not applying for a scholarship, you should submit your application via the online HDR Application Portal by the relevant application closing date.
Australian citizens, permanent residents, and New Zealand citizens may be eligible for a Research Training Program (RTP) Tuition Fee Offset Scholarship, which offsets the requirement to pay a contribution toward the cost of their research course. International students can apply for the International RTP Stipend and Tuition Fee Scholarships. Scholarships are awarded competitively based on academic achievement, research potential, and availability of appropriate supervisors and resources.
Scholarships at UWA are generally awarded to applicants who intend to enrol as full-time students on a UWA campus. Approval may be given for a part-time award for domestic applicants only who can demonstrate compelling reasons, such as a medical condition or primary care commitments, that would prevent full-time study. Note that work is not considered a compelling reason for a part-time award.
All supporting documents must be uploaded in PDF format at the time of application. Required documents include: a current CV with names and contact details of two academic referees, a passport bio page or equivalent identity document, evidence of meeting English language requirements, final official academic transcripts and degree certificates for all tertiary education (including incomplete degrees), any thesis or dissertation, and evidence that your nominated academic supervisor has agreed to supervise you.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
