Yes. Upon completion of a master by research degree, you may apply to be considered for entry into a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program.

Yes. Australian citizens, permanent residents and New Zealand citizens who are successful applicants of a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program are eligible for a tuition fee exemption under the Australian Government's Research Training Program (RTP): up to two years of full-time equivalent study for Master of Philosophy programs.

Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English. For IELTS Academic, the required scores are: Writing 6.0, Speaking 6.0, Reading 6.0, Listening 6.0, and an Overall band score of 6.5. You may also demonstrate English proficiency using other approved tests and qualifications.

The Master of Philosophy (Surveying and Mapping) is offered at Curtin Perth campus. For 2026, it is available in Research Term 1 and Research Term 2, both delivered on campus.
