Common Questions
The course comprises four five-week placements, covering a wide range of areas including acute care units, rehabilitation centres, neurological units, residential care facilities, pediatric units and aged care facilities. Placements are only provided on a full-time basis and will require interstate travel. Accommodation and transport costs are the student's responsibility.
Yes, the course has been accredited by the Australian Physiotherapy Council. Graduates of the Master of Physiotherapy are eligible for registration as a Physiotherapist by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Applications from domestic applicants are accepted on a yearly basis from 1 August of the preceding year and close on 30 June of the commencing year. Limited Commonwealth-supported places (CSPs) are available and will be awarded on academic merit. To be considered for a CSP, applicants must submit their application by 31 March 2026, with eligible applicants notified from 15 April 2026.
In addition to a completed bachelor degree in a health science discipline with a credit average or higher, applicants must have completed degree level studies in musculoskeletal anatomy, advanced functional anatomy, physiology of exercise and biomechanics. Applicants must upload unit outlines or course syllabi from their previous studies as evidence of meeting these requirements.
There are non-standard English language requirements for this course. To be eligible, applicants must have an overall IELTS Academic score (or equivalent) of 7.0, with no band score below 7.0. Additionally, for professional Physiotherapy registration with AHPRA, IELTS is required for anyone who did not complete high school in Australia, England, Ireland, New Zealand, USA, Canada or South Africa.
