You will complete approximately 750 hours of clinical practicum across the program. These placements take place in a variety of formal clinical settings including physiotherapy practices, hospitals, and community health settings in both urban and rural locations, and are structured across four dedicated clinical education courses: PHTY5011, PHTY6011, PHTY6012, and PHTY6015.
Yes, the Master of Physiotherapy program offered on the Fremantle and Sydney campuses is accredited by the Australian Physiotherapy Council. Graduates are eligible to register as physiotherapists with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (Ahpra), allowing them to work throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: hold a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science with a minimum GPA of 2.5; or a Bachelor of Science with a major or specialisation in Exercise and Sports Science with a minimum GPA of 2.5; or any Bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 2.5 AND assessed studies in Human Anatomy & Physiology and Human Pathophysiology. Specifically, applicants must have completed two semesters of Human Anatomy and one semester of Pathophysiology.
The application process is a two-step process. In Step A, applicants must complete the Assessment of Subject Requirements Form before submitting a formal application. The Admissions Office will respond within 10 working days. If approved, applicants are invited to Step B, which involves submitting a formal application either via UAC or direct entry. Applications for Semester 1 2027 open on 1 May 2026 and close on 29 October 2026.
Domestic students may be eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP), where the Australian Government subsidises part of the tuition fees and students pay a student contribution amount, which can be deferred using a HECS-HELP loan. For international students, the indicative annual fee for 2024 is AUD $55,000. All fees are quoted in Australian Dollars.
