The Master of Police Leadership offers two specialisation options: Traditional Policing (comprising MPL501 New Perspectives and Challenges in Policing, MPL503 Road Safety and Best Practice, and MGL502 Strategic Resources Allocation) and Future Policing (comprising MPL504 Smart Policing and New Technologies, MGL502 Strategic Resources Allocation, and MCL506 Technology Enhanced Organised Crime).
For domestic students, the tuition per unit is AUD $2,500, with total course fees of AUD $40,000, a one-time non-refundable application fee of AUD $500, and AUD $10,000 paid up front. For international students, the tuition per unit is AUD $3,125, with total tuition fees of AUD $50,000, a non-refundable deposit of AUD $500, and AUD $12,500 paid up front prior to issue of Confirmation of Enrolment.
Both domestic and international applicants must have completed an AQF Level 7 or above higher education qualification (or equivalent) in any discipline and have at least two years relevant policing experience in a managerial or leadership role. Applicants must also submit a copy of their CV with a cover letter and a recent police check not more than 90 days old.
The Master of Police Leadership includes four semesters with a total of 160 credit points, structured as follows: 80 credit points of core units, 30 credit points of specialisation, 10 credit points of capstone project, and 40 credit points of electives. Note that the RES520 Capstone Project (10 credit points) plus 2 electives may be replaced by RES521 Research Project (20 credit points) plus 1 elective.
International student applicants whose entry qualifications were obtained in an institution where English is not the language of instruction normally require an International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) score of 6.5, with a score of not less than 6.0 in any of the four skill areas, or equivalent.
