It is currently the only master degree course in predictive analytics in Australia. It is a multidisciplinary degree in which students can choose from multiple majors to learn about specific application domains, and introduces advanced skills in data management, mining and visualisation, decision methods and predictive analytics.
Students can choose from the following majors: Finance and Investment Analytics (which embeds economic and financial econometric analysis within the data and predictive analytic framework), Internet of Things (which teaches the underlying principles and architecture of IoT, its networks, devices, programming, data and security), and Data Science (which consolidates data science and predictive analytics skills through core machine learning and project units along with a range of optional units).
For domestic fee-paying students, the 2026 indicative fee is $37,484, based on a first-year full-time study load of 200 credits. The total cost will depend on your course options, including the units selected and time taken to complete the degree. Domestic fee-paying students may be eligible for FEE-HELP assistance.
Curtin requires all applicants to demonstrate proficiency in English. For the Master of Predictive Analytics, the IELTS Academic requirements are: Writing 6, Speaking 6, Reading 6, Listening 6, and an Overall band score of 6. You may also demonstrate English proficiency using other approved tests and qualifications.
Students will have opportunities to work on industry-sponsored projects and participate in Curtin partnerships through Innovation Central Perth and the Curtin Institute for Data Science. Students will also work on cutting-edge projects in the space of innovation and commercialisation, drawing on sophisticated research methods and techniques.
