Yes. The Master of Professional Accounting is accredited by CPA Australia (CPAA) and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ). After successfully completing the course, graduates will be eligible to apply for associate membership of CPAA and entry to the CPA Program of CPAA and CA ANZ.
No. The Master of Professional Accounting is designed for students from both accounting and non-accounting backgrounds. The entry requirement is simply an Australian bachelor degree or equivalent in any discipline.
The course comprises 14 core units and 2 elective units, totalling 240 credit points. Each unit is worth 15 credit points, and full-time students undertake four units per trimester across 4 trimesters (2 years). The final trimester includes the mandatory MA618 Industry Based Capstone Project.
Yes. Units MA501 Foundations of Accounting and MA509 Accounting Information Systems utilise cloud-based accounting software, and students will incur a fee of currently $33 per unit for access. Additionally, for the mandatory MA618 Industry Based Capstone Project, if a third party is required to find a project for the student, a fee of currently $350 plus GST will apply.
The Master of Professional Accounting is offered with intakes in March, July, and November at both MIT's Sydney and Melbourne campuses. The course runs for 2 years (4 trimesters) full-time, or equivalent part-time for domestic students.
