Common Questions
The Master of Professional Accounting satisfies the educational membership requirements for Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA), CPA Australia (CPA), and The Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).
The Master of Professional Accounting (16 subject program) is studied over 4 trimesters spread over 2 calendar years. However, students can choose to make use of the 3 trimesters offered and study continuously to reduce the time of their course completion if they choose.
Students must have completed a Bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) or higher — specifically, a recognised bachelor's qualification, graduate certificate or graduate diploma in any field, at a standard equivalent to AQF Level 7 and acceptable to King's Own Institute. The course is open to graduates from any discipline.
Graduates of the Master of Professional Accounting may find employment as a Management Accountant, Tax Accountant, Auditor, Corporate Treasurer, Finance Manager, Financial Dealer, Financial Institution Branch Manager or Financial Investment Adviser. Graduates are also eligible to apply for admission into further postgraduate qualifications in Australia and overseas such as an MBA or a PhD.
Students can choose from Accounting Electives (ACC709 Accounting Analytics, ACC710 International Accounting, ACC711 Forensic Accounting), MBA Electives (MBA901 Career Ownership, MBA902 Leading Ethical, Sustainable and Responsible Enterprise, MBA903 Personal Performance and Resilience, MBA904 Human Centred Design), and IT Electives (ICT761 Business Analytics and Business Intelligence, ICT700 Introduction to Business Information Systems). Electives are studied in the last trimester only, subject to availability.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
