The Master of Professional Accounting Advanced offers three specialisations: Financial Management (focusing on areas of financial management such as banking and securities), International Business (broadening your knowledge of intercultural aspects of the business environment), and Business Analytics (utilising and interpreting data to inform business strategies and add value to businesses).
The Master of Professional Accounting Advanced enables students to meet the educational and membership requirements of CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants ANZ, and international professional associations ACCA and CIMA. Additionally, the University of Wollongong has been awarded the prestigious AACSB International accreditation, placing it among the world's top 6% of business schools.
Entry requires a recognised bachelor's degree in any discipline with an equivalent average mark of 50%, OR a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Accounting with an equivalent average mark of 50%, OR a recognised master's degree in any discipline with an equivalent average mark of 50%. Other tertiary qualifications combined with extensive professional work experience will also be considered.
The indicative session fee is $12,564 and the total course fee is $67,010 for 2026. However, in 2026, domestic students may be eligible for either a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) or a UOW-subsidised fee reduction of up to 75% off the fees listed. Fees will be confirmed at the time of offer.
The Master of Professional Accounting Advanced is designed for non-accounting graduates who want a career in the accounting profession and want to enhance their learning experience by including another discipline specialisation. Throughout the degree, students are supported by dedicated student support services built around individual needs, with student advisors, academic staff, and careers consultants available each week for advice and guidance. The degree also provides opportunities to network with peers, members of the local business community, and alumni through social and semi-formal events.
