Common Questions
Yes, if you have undertaken previous studies at another institution or have significant relevant employment experience, you may be eligible to apply for RPL after receiving a UTS offer of enrolment. RPL acknowledges skills and knowledge gained through formal qualifications and informal learning, and may be granted as specified credit (subject exemption) or unspecified credit (unspecified elective/general advanced standing).
As an international student, you should apply for RPL when applying for your UTS course to ensure processing before your letter of offer is issued. You should also consider the impact of RPL on your course duration and student visa requirements. Applications made after the first session will only be considered in exceptional circumstances with a written statement explaining the delay and any previous applications.
You will be notified of your RPL outcome via your UTS webmail account within four to six weeks of application submission. All RPL decisions are final as per the Admissions and RPL Policy. If you are dissatisfied with the outcome, you can submit a complaint to the Student Complaints Resolution Office or seek review from the Student Ombudsman.
You need to provide certified official academic records, qualifications, and supporting evidence such as subject outlines, comparison tables, or portfolios. Official academic records must be certified and sighted as true copies by authorised offices such as the UTS Student Centre, a Justice of the Peace, or an Australian Overseas Diplomatic Mission. Non-English documents must be officially translated and submitted with certified copies.
Yes, to cancel approved RPL you need to submit an eRequest with a reason for the cancellation. The cancellation request will be assessed in relation to your course structure and progression before a decision is made.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
