Successful completion of all accredited subjects fulfils the academic entry requirements for the professional accounting bodies Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), giving graduates an excellent head start in their careers.
Entry requires completion of an AQF level 7 bachelor degree in a business discipline other than accounting from JCU or another university, or other qualifications and/or experience recognised by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Academy as equivalent. Eligible business disciplines include marketing, management, commerce, human resource management, economics, tourism and hospitality, or other disciplines involving organisational behaviour, business, strategy, marketing, economics, communication and people management.
The course takes 2 years to complete as a full-time student, or 4 years part-time. Intakes are available in January, May, and September at both the Cairns and Brisbane campuses.
The estimated annual tuition fee is AUD $33,133 for a full-time study load (2026 fees, subject to change in following years), plus a Student Services and Amenities fee. Fee deferral and scholarships are available if eligible.
Yes, JCU may recognise other qualifications and/or practical experience as meeting the entry requirements, as assessed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Academy. Additionally, as noted by student Gary Myers, JCU accepted his work experience and previous university experiences for advanced standing.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
