Yes, most specialisations are accredited by Engineers Australia (EA), including Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Electronic, Environmental, Mechanical, Mining, and Software Engineering. The Chemical Engineering specialisation is also additionally accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). The Automation and Robotics Engineering specialisation is not listed as EA-accredited on the page.
The professional practicum is a 12-week placement where you work closely with prospective employers to build connections, industry knowledge, and the most up-to-date, relevant, and in-demand skillset. The School of Engineering also accepts placement hours accrued through WIL and SVLG units/micro-credentials towards the Engineering Professional Practicum, to a maximum of 100 hours.
Yes, this course is subsidised for Australian residents through Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP). Student contribution amounts are charged by unit based on area of study and are subject to annual indexation. UWA's fee calculator can be used to estimate course fees for CSP students.
No. Students entering the Master of Professional Engineering having completed the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at UWA, or an equivalent Engineers Australia accredited course as determined by the University, may not undertake a specialisation in a disciplinary field corresponding to the major they completed in their prior degree.
