Master of Professional Engineering (Chemical)

The Master of Professional Engineering (Chemical) extends the skills of practising chemical engineers, who develop the processes that convert raw materials into valuable products — from medications and vaccines to food and beverages, cosmetics and textiles, and advances in biofuels, nanomaterials and pharmaceuticals.
The degree is structured with a foundation year and an extension year; depending on your professional experience and prior qualifications you may be eligible for credit for the first year and progress straight into second year. The first year covers essential chemical engineering knowledge.
Advanced courses cover process dynamics and control, separation process engineering and reaction engineering, and the elective-driven structure lets you tailor the degree to your specific interests, including metallurgical processes.
You undertake up to 450 hours of professional experience, applying your skills in industry settings, and formalise your engineering practice.
The program totals 96 units — 54 units of core courses, 12 units of work integrated learning and 30 units of electives — over two years across the Adelaide City and Mawson Lakes campuses, with February and July intakes.
