Master of Professional Engineering (Telecommunications)

The Master of Professional Engineering (Telecommunications) is designed to challenge and extend practising engineers, taking your telecommunications engineering career to the next level.
The degree is structured with both a foundation year and an extension year. Depending on your combination of professional experience and educational qualifications, you may be eligible to receive credit for the first year and progress straight into second year. The first year covers essential telecommunications engineering knowledge at an advanced level.
Advanced study covers advanced signal processing, terahertz technology, telecommunication system security, and information theory and coding.
Core courses in engineering management and data analytics deepen and formalise your project management expertise, giving you the tools to extract insights, improve decision-making and lead in engineering-based industries.
The elective-driven structure lets you tailor the degree to your specific interests and career goals, with options including advanced signal processing, telecommunication device security and terahertz technology.
You undertake up to 450 hours of professional experience, applying your skills in industry settings, and sharpen your research skills through capstone design and major research projects. The degree forms part of a stackable set of qualifications, so you can study at a pace and level of commitment that suits you.
The program totals 96 units — 60 units of core courses, 12 units of work integrated learning and 24 units of electives — over two years across the Adelaide City and Mawson Lakes campuses, with February and July intakes.
