Assessment Skills in Psychology Practice 1
Introduces key diagnostic frameworks and assessment methods for common mental health presentations, cognitive assessment, risk assessment and safety planning, with consideration of cultural and developmental factors.
Ethics and Professional Psychology Practice 1
Considers common professional and ethical issues in psychological practice, introducing key ethical codes, guidelines, standards and legislation relevant to psychology practice, with ethical decision-making models applied to real-world case examples.
Intervention Skills in Psychology Practice 1
Introduces cognitive behavioural therapy and basic therapeutic techniques including cognitive interventions, behavioural interventions, and emotional and physical focused techniques, to prepare students for their first placement.
Professional Psychology Placement 1
Students take their first steps into professional psychological practice by working with a simulated client in a structured placement environment, conducting an intake under supervision.

Placements begin with simulated experiences in the first semester of Year 1, followed by direct client-facing placements at the University Psychology Clinics in both Hobart and Launceston, and then external placements with community partners ranging from community clinics to indigenous centres, prisons, and hospitals.
Yes, the Master of Psychology (Clinical) is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC).
