Develops understanding of how culture, politics and power influence organisational behaviour. Introduces agile leadership principles and team dynamics, including the Clifton Strengths Finder Assessment.
Organisational Context and Roles in Project Management
Covers the internal and external organisational context in which projects are formed, executed, supported and evaluated, including stakeholder engagement and governance.
Project Management Principles
Provides insights into best practices, tools, techniques, standards and language of project management as recognised by bodies such as PMI and AIPM.
Project Management Domains (Tools and Techniques)
Covers project management tools and techniques for planning, monitoring and delivering projects, including selecting appropriate tools based on project domains and desired outcomes.
Organisation Change Management

Managing Project Complexity - Monitoring and Controlling
Co-requisite with MPM5004. Focuses on performance management, monitoring and controlling processes, benefit management, change control, and managing project complexity including environmental and technological constraints.
Managing Project Complexity - Finalising Projects or Phase
Co-requisite with MPM5003. Covers the closing process in project management, including documenting lessons learned, contract closure, and updating corporate processes and templates.
Practical Industry Projects - PIP (Part A)
Capstone unit in partnership with Practera. Students gain hands-on experience solving real-world business challenges for industry clients in groups of up to six, guided by a client mentor and lecturer. Pre-requisite: MPM4005 and MPM5002.
Practical Industry Projects - PIP (Part B)
Continuation of the Capstone Practical Industry Project. Pre-requisite: MPM5015a.

The course requires completion of 16 units (160 credit points) delivered over two years. Year 1 includes 3 core units and 5 specialised units at AQF Level 8. Year 2 includes 6 specialised units at AQF Level 9 and the Capstone Practical Industry Project (PIP) delivered across 2 parts. There are also nested exit qualifications: a Graduate Certificate of Project Management (6 months full-time) after Year 1 Block 1, and a Graduate Diploma of Project Management (1 year full-time) after completing the first 8 units.
The course has multiple intakes throughout the year: February, March, May, June, August, September, October, and November. An upcoming intake starts 1 June 2026 (2026 Semester 1, Block 4), with orientation on 27 May 2026.
The Master of Project Management is available at two campuses: Sydney (Level 3 & 4, 545 Kent Street, NSW 2000) and Melbourne (Level 1, 20 Queen Street, VIC 3000). The course is open to both domestic and international students.
The PIP is a two-part capstone delivered in Year 2, in partnership with Practera. Students work in groups of up to six on real-world business challenges for industry clients, guided by both a client mentor and a lecturer. Upon completion, students receive a certification and digital badge to add to their CV and LinkedIn profile. To enrol in MPM5015a, students must have completed MPM4005 and MPM5002; MPM5015b requires completion of MPM5015a.
Graduates of the Master of Project Management can pursue roles such as Project Manager, Digital Project Manager, IT Project Manager, and Client-Side Project Manager. The program prepares professionals to plan, manage, and deliver complex projects in organisational and global environments using recognised project management frameworks.
