To demonstrate the achievement of graduate competencies, at least 1000 hours of placement across a minimum of three placements is required (APAC Evidence Guide 1.9). In addition, the first placement (Placement 1A + Placement 1B) is to be no less than 180 hours (APAC Evidence Guide 1.8).
Yes. Successful applicants with a completed Master of Professional Psychology (MPP) may be eligible to receive credit of up to one year (80 credit points), enabling them to complete the Master of Clinical Psychology in just one additional year. Eligible applicants can apply for credit upon receipt of an offer, subject to assessment against program requirements by the Faculty of Health.
Yes. This course is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) and is approved by the Australian Psychological Society College of Clinical Psychologists. It also provides a clear pathway to the registrar program for Clinical Psychology endorsement.
The Master of Psychology (Clinical) is a highly competitive course which has a quota of approximately 40 places (approximately 25 in Casuarina and approximately 15 in Sydney) each year, meaning there are more applicants than places available. Invitations to attend an interview are extended to applicants based on a combination of academic performance, CV, and references.
In 2026, 1st year students can only enrol at the Casuarina Campus. They can then enrol at the Casuarina or Sydney Campus for their 2nd year of study. MPP graduates entering the 2nd year of the MPC can do so at the Casuarina or Sydney Campus. From 2027, 1st year students and MPP graduates can enrol at either the Casuarina or Sydney Campus.
