Yes, the course is available fully online as well as on-campus in Townsville. Students can complete most of their studies online and also benefit from immersive learning experiences in north Queensland through elective block mode subjects that focus on tropical, rural, remote and Indigenous communities.
The course takes 1 year and 1 trimester to complete as a full-time student, or 2 years and 2 trimesters if studying part-time.
Applicants must hold an AQF level 7 bachelor degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent. Applicants must also upload supporting documents with their application including current AHPRA Registration (if applicable), a Degree Testamur, a Curriculum Vitae, and a Personal Statement or Letter of Motivation.
The estimated annual Commonwealth Supported fee is AUD $11,100 for eligible students, and the estimated annual tuition fee is AUD $31,920 for full-time study. A variety of scholarships are available to suit different student types, and fee deferral options such as HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP may be available if eligible.
Graduates are employed across a wide range of settings including State and Commonwealth Government organisations, health care settings, community settings, non-profit and international organisations. Career roles include disease control specialist, biosecurity expert, environmental health director, child and maternal health worker, public health researcher, and advocate for marginalised communities in tropical, rural and remote areas.
