To be eligible for the Master of Public Health — Master of Business Administration at JCU, you must hold an AQF level 7 bachelor degree in a Health Sciences discipline, or an equivalent qualification. You must also meet Band 2 English language requirements if your native language is not English. Additionally, applicants must submit a current AHPRA Registration (if applicable), Degree Testamur, Curriculum Vitae, and a Personal Statement or Letter of Motivation with their application.
The public health component includes five core subjects: Tropical Public Health; Public Health Management, Leadership, Planning and Policy; Epidemiology for Public Health; Biostatistics for Public Health; and Communicable Disease Control. Students can also choose elective subjects covering infection prevention and control, health promotion, global health, human parasitology and medical entomology, social science in public health, travel medicine, environmental health, and public health in the workplace. Students may also opt to undertake a research project and complete a high-quality dissertation.
