Master of Research

This is a research-based course and progress is monitored on a time and progress basis, rather than credit point accrual. You will complete a unit of study specific to your discipline for the duration of your candidature, but no credit points apply to this unit.

Applications are open year-round. You should first check that you meet the course requirements, then submit a preliminary proposal. Your preliminary proposal will be received by the School of Graduate Research team and directed to the relevant academic School for review and identification of available supervisors. If your preliminary proposal is accepted, you will be invited to prepare a full research proposal in collaboration with your nominated supervisory team.

You may have opportunities to undertake optional work-integrated learning activities appropriate to your discipline area.

Yes, the Master of Research is available both full-time (2 years) and part-time (4 years), and can be studied on campus at multiple locations including Adelaide, Brisbane, Bundaberg, Cairns, Gladstone, Mackay, Melbourne, Rockhampton, Sydney, and Townsville, or entirely online.
